# Creating Excel Templates

> ℹ️ Check the Excel Templates in the [Xporter Template Store](https://store.getxporter.app/?platf=JIRACLOUD&cats=7&sort=1&order=desc).

To create Excel templates, you only need to add [mappings](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTERCLOUD/558575) the same way you do with Word templates.

![Figure 1 - Excel templates](media://281d88a0-813f-44a5-a556-eba55b4e8728)

`${Summary}` (Figure 1 - 1), `${fullname:ReporterId}` (Figure 1 - 2) and `${fullname:AssigneeId}` (Figure 1 - 3) are examples of mappings similar to the ones used on Microsoft Word templates.

## Iterations

<span style="color: #333333">To define an iteration, you must merge columns and define the "for" inside those merged cells (Figure 1 - 1). </span>

<span style="color: #333333">The same thing must be done to define the "end" of the iteration (Figure 1 - 2).</span>

<span style="color: #333333">All content between the "for" and the "end" will be duplicated for each iteration.</span>

# Functions

## Differences between Word and Excel Definition

| **Word** | **Excel** | **Why?** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| <span style="color: #000000">@{title=${Key}|href=${BaseURL}/browse/${Key}}</span> | ${link:title=${Key},href=${BaseURL}/browse/${Key}} | In Excel, "@" is not allowed as it is considered an invalid formula |

# Use Case

## Problem

To create a chart in a sheet populated by exported data from a different sheet.

## Solution

> Macro (rw-ui-steps-macro)
>
> > Macro (rw-step)
>
> Create a simple table with column titles (Figure 1 - 1) to export your data.
>
> ![Figure 1 - Simple table](media://9bdbc885-cf26-426a-a515-ca70f3a200e2)
>
> > Macro (rw-step)
>
> Create a named formula (Figure 2 - 1) for each column in your table. <span style="color: #0d0d0d">The formula syntax is:</span>
>
> | `=OFFSET(DATA!$A$1,1,0,COUNTA(DATA!$A:$A)-1,1)` |
> | --- |
>
> This formula establishes a range representing the column with all the exported data.
>
> ![Figure 2 - Formula](media://9fa937d3-5b27-4c9c-a03c-0aa343b17ac3)
>
> - `DATA!$A$1` - this represents the starting cell. In this example (Figure 2):
> - *DATA *sheet (Figure 2 - 3).
> - Cell A1: *Key (*Figure 1 - 2).
> - `1` - the vertical offset of the zone/range based on the starting cell (start one cell below that one).
> - `0` - the horizontal offset of the zone/range based on the starting cell (we want to stay in the same column).
> - `COUNTA(DATA!$A:$A)-1` - this will count all cells with values on the *DATA* sheet (Figure 2 - 3) and column A (subtract one to remove the 'Key' title), defining the zone/range with all the exported rows.
> - `1` - the number of columns to define the zone/range (we only want the column we're on).
>
> > Macro (rw-step)
>
> Create a chart on a different sheet and select data:
>
> - Add a new series for each column you want to visualize in your chart:
> - Series name: ="Estimated" (Figure 3 - 1).
> - Series values: =DATA!Estimated (sheet with data exported + name defined of the named formula; Figure 3 - 2).
> - Series name: ="Spent"
> - Series values: =DATA!Spent
>
> ![Figure 3 - Select data](media://3cfec2a1-58d8-4813-b9a0-c74acf11db2f)
>
> - Add a horizontal (category).
> - =DATA!Keys (Figure 4 - 1).
>

>
> > Macro (rw-step)
>
> Save and [upload to Xporter for Jira Cloud](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTERCLOUD/427622/Working+with+Templates#Adding-an-External-Template) (Figure 5).
