## TXT

A Text File (TXT) template is a versatile template that can contain anything from HTML, XML to random text.

You can combine all these text types using [Xporter for Jira Cloud](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/891368/xporter-export-issues-from-jira?tab=overview&hosting=cloud) to create generic templates.

> If you require any other output type not listed here, you can export to TXT and change the file type after exportation.

> You can also set TXT as the default format for the template (Figure 1 - 3). However, this is not mandatory. Your template will be exported as TXT as long as you have it defined in the Output formats field (Figure 1 - 2).

## Creating TXT Templates

<span style="color: #0d0d0d">Let's say you want to create a file with HTML content and information from Jira. You can achieve this with Xporter for Jira Cloud by creating a TXT template. Learn more below.</span>

> To create a TXT template, add [mappings](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTERCLOUD/558575) the same way you do with [Excel templates](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTERCLOUD/558471). The only difference is that you will be using a TXT file.
