## Introduction

This is the second set of exercises for the [Level 1 (Basic Level)](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTERCLOUD/460196). The main goal of this set of exercises is to <span style="color: #0d0d0d">familiarize you with managing</span> [Templates](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTERCLOUD/431152/Templates).

Beyond installing templates from the [Xporter Template Store](https://store.getxporter.app/) as demonstrated in the [previous exercise](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTERCLOUD/560103), you can also create your templates and upload them to your Jira Cloud instance.

> In Templates (Figure 1), you can:
> 
> - See the existing templates (Figure 1 - 2) and their details (name, scopes, description).

> - Set as Default (Figure 1 - 8). If you choose this option, the selected template will be selected when users open the issue view screen.
> - Edit a template (Figure 1 - 9). <span style="color: #0d0d0d">Allows you to change an existing template by editing the template name, description, scopes, template file, etc. More below (Figure 2).</span>
> - Delete a template (Figure 1 - 10).


> ℹ️ - If no Template is set as default, the first listed template in alphabetical order will be displayed on Xporter screens.
> ℹ️ - If you click the hyperlink text with the template file name next, you'll automatically download the template file.
> ℹ️ - The templates that have the tag *Installed from store* next to them since they were installed from the Xporter Template Store.
> ℹ️ - User-installed templates are tagged as *Installed from file* upload.

> ⚠️ - If either the template name or file name is the same as an already installed template, an error message will be displayed when clicking the *Create* button.
> ⚠️ - Both the template and file names must be unique.
> ⚠️ - If you try to add a template file with an unsupported extension, an error message will be displayed informing you of the supported extensions.

### 2 - Editing a Template

### 3 - Deleting a Template

> On one of the template entries with the tag *Installed from store* next to them, click the gear icon (Figure 1 - 6) and then the *Delete* button (Figure 1 - 10).

> A modal (Figure 2) will be displayed asking if you're sure you want to delete the template. Click the *Confirm* button (Figure 2 - 1), and that template entry will be removed.

### 4 - Setting a Template as Default

> On the newly created template entry, click the gear icon (Figure 1 - 6) and then *Set as Default* (Figure 1 - 8).

> The *Default* label will be displayed on that template entry.

> <span style="color: #111111">If you now try to export a single issue or a bulk of issues, your template will appear selected automatically on the template selector.</span>

> > ℹ️ **Permission Schemes detail**

> > ℹ️ - If you have an active [Permission Scheme](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTERCLOUD/528718), and your default template isn't included in it, then it won't be displayed on the template selector.
> > ℹ️ - The template shown on the Xporter screens will be the first available template of that Permission Scheme listed in alphabetical order.

### 5 - Downloading a Template

> To download the template file of one of your templates, click the gear icon (Figure 1 - 6) and then *Download *(Figure 1 - 10)*.*
