> ℹ️ [Xporter for Jira Cloud](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/891368/xporter-export-issues-from-jira?tab=overview&hosting=cloud) supports a migration path using the [Jira Cloud Migration Assistant](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1222010/jira-cloud-migration-assistant?hosting=server&tab=overview) (JCMA) for users who want to transition from Jira Server to Jira Cloud. However, JCMA is no longer available on the [Atlassian marketplace](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/). If you do not have Jira Cloud Migration Assistance installed on your Jira Cloud instance, please reach out to [Atlassian Support.](https://support.atlassian.com/)

Before proceeding, please check the differences between the [Server and Cloud](https://docsxporter.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XPORTER/pages/1409405/Server+vs+Cloud+Version) versions regarding features and integrations.

## Full vs Partial Migration

With the JCMA it's possible to perform two different types of migrations:

- Users and groups only.
- Projects, users, and groups.

During the first migration (with or without projects), the following entities from Jira Administration will be migrated:

- [Global Settings](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTER/1409516/Global+Settings).
- [Templates](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTER/1409467).
- [Permission Schemes](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTER/1409475/Permission+Schemes) (without projects associated).
- [File Servers](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTER/1409479/File+Servers).

When one or more projects are selected for migration, these entities will be migrated for each project:

- Jira Administration [Project Settings](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTER/1409256/Project+Administration).
- Jira Administration [Permission Schemes](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTER/1409264/Project+-+Permission+Schemes).
- Project Settings [Templates](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTER/1409260/Project+-+Templates).

## [Workflow Post-Functions](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTERCLOUD/460608) Migration (only supported by Xporter 6.8.0)

- If it is not the first migration, all the Post Functions that are migrated will have to be edited to update the template and file server if you are using it.
- If you have any of the actions to send an email and in the fields **To**, **Cc** and **Bcc,** and there is the name of a user or a group, this data is not supported by Xporter Cloud.
- If the action is *Save on Jira host*, this action will be deleted, and if it is a unique post action, the post function will also be deleted.
- Server Post functions can have project Templates, but in the Cloud, that is not possible. This means that every Post function with Templates at the project level will be migrated without a template.

### Migration Steps

1. Install the [Jira Cloud Migration Assistant](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1222010/jira-cloud-migration-assistant?hosting=server&tab=overview) app and the [Xporter for Jira Cloud](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/891368/xporter-export-issues-from-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview) on your Jira Cloud instance.
2. Navigate to Migration Assistant home and complete the *Assess and Install Apps* form.
3. Create a new migration process by clicking *Create new migration* inside *Manage your Migration*.
4. Complete the wizard and the Xporter data will be migrated as mentioned above.

> ⚠️ - Templates for the Xray integration can be different from the Server. Please, setup the [Integration](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTERCLOUD/526612/Xray+Test+Management+for+Jira) and validate your templates.
> ⚠️ - [Workflow Post-Functions](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTERCLOUD/460608) can only be migrated with Xporter 6.8.0.
> ⚠️ - Xporter templates using IDs from Jira entities like Issues and projects must be validated. During the migration, those IDs can be changed, and the template needs to be updated manually.
> ⚠️ - Some [Integrations](https://docs.getxporter.app/space/XPORTERCLOUD/427597) need configurations. Please see the documentation to get them working as expected.
