[Xporter for Jira Data Center](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/891368/xporter-export-issues-from-jira?tab=installation&hosting=datacenter) allows you to configure the export of an attachment at the Template level.

Let's suppose you want to choose which of your Templates should export attachments.

> On your Jira instance, click the *Settings*/gear icon (Figure 1 - 1) and then *Manage apps* (Figure 1 - 2).

> The Xporter menu will appear on the left side of the screen. There, click *Global Settings* (Figure 1 - 3).

> Disable the *Include Attachments* option (Figure 1 - 4) on the Global Settings page. This will ensure that <span style="color: #333333">only the Templates with the attachments enabled will export the Issue attachments.</span>

> > ℹ️ If the *Include Attachment*s option is enabled, all Templates will export the attachments.
> 
> > Macro (rw-step)
> 
> On the Xporter menu, go to the *Templates* option (Figure 2 - 1). On the desired Template, click the gear icon (Figure 2 - 2) and then *Edit* (Figure 2 - 3). A modal will open (Figure 3).

> Click the *Advanced* option (Figure 3 - 1). Use the *Attach Files* toggle (Figure 3 - 2) to specify whether or not you want to have the attachments included in that Template.

> Once you're finished, click the *Update* button (Figure 3 - 3).

> After adding/editing the Template, the Xporter for Jira Templates page will indicate which Templates have the attachments enabled (Figure 4 - 1).

> > ⚠️ The Templates downloaded from the [Xporter Template Store](https://store.getxporter.app/), by default, will have the attachments disabled.

> > ⚠️ If you want to enable the attachments, edit the Template and use the toggle.

## Opening Attachments

### DOCX Files

If you have attachments on an Issue and you try to export a Template with a DOCX extension, you will be able to see, at the end of the file, the attachments included in the document generated.

To open an attachment, double-click the attachment icon (Figure 5).

### PDF Files

If you have attachments on an Issue, and you try to export a Template with a PDF extension, you will able to see the symbol > Macro (inline-media-image)

 in the left sidebar in Adobe Acrobat Reader (Figure 6 - 1), showing the attachments included in the document generated. 

To open an attachment, double-click the attachment icon (Figure 6 - 2).
